I'm switching from graphite to charcoal. Actually, I wanted to try a "trois" technique, which uses black, white, and sanguine charcoal. Unfortunately the white charcoal doesn't show up on white paper (these photos haven't been white balanced). So I am switching to sketching on toned paper. These are the last four sketches I plan on making in this sketch book for a while.

I've been trying to sketch each morning, but I'm inconsistent. I did some Hogarth heads for a couple of days, but I wasn't a huge fan of Hogarth's technique. After that I switched to drawing a simple Asaro head from different angles. I started sketching for an hour each day. Then I took a break. I picked it up again with about fifteen minutes a day. That's not enough... I've got to practice more -- no excuses.
